Introduction

 PHOTO GALLERY

Goa is the first introduction to India for many British travellers, due to the large charter flight programme that has been operating for many years. Even before this, many hippies made this their favourite place and indeed some, even to this day, can still be found there.

It is the UK´s main sunshine long distance holiday beach destination during our winter months.
With the warm blue Arabian sea, large reasonably uncrowded beaches plus virtually guaranteed winter sunshine, Goa is an ideal location for your exotic sunshine beach holiday.

At the start of the season (October/November) Goa is very lush and green, due to the summer monsoons; exactly how you would picture your tropical paradise, retaining its beauty year round.

This ex-Portuguese colony in India not only boasts fantastic beaches but has really friendly people, where English is widely spoken
The resorts featured in the south are ideal for a quiet holiday with less crowded and larger beaches.
The resorts in Central Goa are limited and are ideal to explore Goa. It is within close proximity of the capital, Panjim.

The resorts in the north are a lot more lively with many hotels, restaurants, bars and some clubs. For the liveliest holidays choose Calangute or Baga. Anjuna beach in the north can be a little quieter and was historically the main hippie destination.

We offer a small selection of accommodation from basic hotels to the some of the best hotels in the resort. However we are able to secure any other accommodation that is not featured. Just ask.
Why not extend your holiday and incorporate an India Tour such as the Taj Triangle which takes in the fabulous Taj Mahal. For prices please enquirePlus it´s real value for money destination, where the food and drinks are also ridiculously cheap, if you stick to local brands/produce.

All passengers to Goa need a visa except Indian Citizens. This must be obtained prior to travel. For details please see http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk. The current visa costs £40. If done in person this can be obtained in a few days. Please allow a minimum 10 days for postal application but do check their website for any further delays. The easiest option is to use our visa service. For details please enquire.

Top Picks

There is lots to do too, exploring the various temples, forts, bazaars and markets including two night markets in Arpora, as well as a number of churches. Guests can venture out of the resort to see rural Goa, such as visiting the spice plantations in Ponda, the Dudhsagar waterfalls or the elephants at the Shanti nature reserve. Ourrepresentetive in Goa will have an extensive excursion programme which you may purchase locally.(Dreamticket are not party to any of these excursions purchased, so you will be bound by the local operator.s terms and conditions.)

Transportation

We offer a choice charter and schedule flights to Goa.

Charter flights are normally on British carriers such as Monarch who mostly use wide bodied aircraft from London Gatwick or Manchester. Most flights are normally non stop to Goa. Charter flights are the quickest way to get to Goa but some offer limited legroom, plus charge for drinks, food (some flights) and TV entertainment. Not all charter flights have seat back TV or on demand seat back TV.
Note: All charter flights tickets are non refundable and non changeable.

Schedule flights from Heathrow via Mumbai (formally known as Bombay) where you will have to change terminals and aircraft. Our featured carriers, Kingfisher Airlines or Jet Airways are excellant and probably rank as one of the top airlines in the world. They both operates ultra modern aircraft on the London to Mumbai (non stop) route with a choice of flight timings plus better than normal seat pitch with specially designed ergonomical seats, even in economy class. The free* in flight service is excellent with normally a choice of eastern and western dishes, in flight beverage service and individual large screen seat back on demand TV with a large selection of movies and programs.

Kingfisher and Jet Airways also features a fantastic Business/First Class cabins which we believe is better than most other airlines. Ask for further details.

We also offer brand new flights with award winning Qatar Airways via Doha directly into Goa. (Note that flights arrive and depart in the early hours of the morning so you may need to book extra nights in your hotel as check in/ out time is normally late morning or early afternoon.

Flights can be organised on virtually all other major airlines such as British Airways or Virgin Atlantic to Mumbai or other international Indian hubs, such as Delhi or Bangalore, with connections to Goa.

By flying with scheduled carriers, we can offer most regional UK airports, mostly with through check in, to your destination. You will, however, have to clear customs and immigration at your first port of entry, in the relevant country.

Furthemore scheduled carriers are normally the best value option, if travelling with kids under 12 years old.

One of the other plus points of travelling on a scheduled carrier is that you can have any length of holiday within the restrictions of your ticket; plus they can offer flexble tickets if required, so you can change your holiday when on holiday (must be requested at the time of booking and a re booking fee may be payable).

A large selection of internal flights are available through out India with choice of carriers. We can book these for you too.

Travelling around Goa / India
Local transport can be very crowded and slow. Taxis are widely available and if they are not metered, agree the fare first. They can stay with you for your return journey for, normally no extra cost. (long distances journeys have free waiting time of 2 hours) Due to hazardous driving conditions, three wheel taxis and self drive are not recommended. Great value chauffeur driven car hire is available on a request basis. Please enquire.

Please note that all holidays to Goa require a minimum of an eight night stay. (Seven nights in resort and one night travelling). We can provide shorter durations but you may have to wait 24 hours for a price.

Entertainment

Try Caravela the floating casino on the river Mandovi

Sunset cruises are a great way to spend an evening

Restaurants

Goan food can be spicy and has a Portuguese influence. It is the home of the Vindaloo, which is fantastic and bears no resemblance to the so called Vindaloo we get in most of the restaurants in the UK. As Goa has been catering for tourists for many years, international food is widely available. Needless to say that fantastic Indian food is also widely available and for the vegetarian, you.ll be in food heaven.

Shopping
The capital city Panjim has all the well known branded shops, but take note, most of the shops in Panjim have fixed prices you cannot bargain.
Mapusa - is a local market and very famous for the Friday market, a great experience of a true local market selling a host of produce such as fruits, fish, vegetables and so on.
There are two night markets in Arpora on a Saturday going on util midnight or later.
These colourful markets are a great place to find silver, jewellery, cheap clothes such as sarongs, pachminas, leather goods, and souvenirs. There are also food stalls selling different types of cuisines, as well as local bars.
This is a good place for bargaining so be prepared to haggle.
Ther is a Flea Market in Anjuna on a Wednesday from 9.00 in the morning till late evening.
Recreation
Recreation - water sports are available on all beaches. Jet skis, banana boat rides, parasailing, and dolphin watching are all catered for.
For the night owls, clubs like Tito and Mambos in Baga are open until 5 in the morning.
Club Cubanas is worth a visit, as it's better known as 'the night club in the sky' thanks to its position on top of a hillock from where you can see the entire village.
